Giselle turns 1 ::: Birthday Princess

Oh Giselle! I love the portrait this session paints of you at this age... your mama loves pink and tutus and all things colorful and frilly-- and you love your four-wheeler, playing in the dirt, climbing and running. Only time will tell your story, but it's shaping up to be a good one and I can't wait to watch it unfold! In the meantime, I hope your days continue to be as giggly and sweet as my evening spent with you and your family yesterday :)

Porter ::: Home Sweet Home 4 months old

Maybe I am finally getting over my fears of shooting babies under 1. Okay, so it's never really been a legit fear of mine... it's more so, I've always had trouble finding the "right market" for the type of portraits I want to do. I don't have a studio, and while I think the shots are always so darn cute, there is a certain amount of authenticity and story-telling I like to provide with each of my sessions, so I've found that my favorite place to shoot people is at their homes or their families home place or other places of sentimental value, especially when it comes to babies and new beginnings. I doubt many of us remember much from when we were 3 or younger, so to be able to create a little time capsule of that particular season of life is a real joy for me. Thank you to all the families that have invited me into their lives and homes lately-- you've provided me with the opportunity to provide honest, soulful and keepsake images that I hope will be a treasure to your family for years to come and I've fallen back in love with my job.

Alivia ::: Sweet baby in a field of red clover

I`m not a newborn photographer, but every so often, I get the itch to do something different- or I have a client like Cheryl, who sends me a picture text of a beautiful field of red clover, and I can't refuse! ;) I got to take Alivia's big brother Alex's newborn pictures several years ago in their daddy's cornfield... and I really loved the outdoor setting we were blessed with for this set too!

Puppy Fever ::: An ode to man's best friend

Usually I get intimidated by shoots involving more than 2 kids, so I don't know how Cheryl convinced me to take pictures of her son, their 9 puppies, and their two dogs! Can you imagine wrangling 11 dogs for a photoshoot? I don't know how we pulled this off... we didn't even stick peanut butter behind Alex's ears... though, I am going to remember that thought for the next time! Hope this session brings you a big smile :)
